How to Get the Most From a Golf Lesson
A lesson is most useful when you and your teacher agree on one or two things to work on. A little preparation makes that much easier.
Before the lesson
When you send your request, describe what's happening in plain words: "my driver slices", "I chunk chips", "I want to break 100". It helps the teacher plan the session before you arrive.
Your usual clubs, not a borrowed set; Notes on your typical miss; Any upcoming trip or event you're preparing for
During the lesson
Ask your teacher to name the one change that matters most and how it should feel. Video of your swing before and after is worth more than a page of notes.
Leave with one thing to practise, not ten.
After the lesson
Practise the change slowly within a few days, while it's fresh. Short, frequent sessions work better than one long bucket of balls. Book a follow-up once the new move starts to feel normal.
